FTTP (Optical fibre)
Where geographically available, with the connectivity service FTTP (Fibre To The Premise), also known as FTTH (Fibre To The Home) is possible to obtain very high speed links, making possible to implement every broad-band service. Over an FTTP link is possible to transmit all kind of data, including telephony calls and Virtual Private Networks (VPN). The link is established at 1Gbps speed (equal to 1000Mbps, up to 2000 times the ADSL speed, and 15000 times ISDN speed). Since the phisical link is totally dielectric, communication equipement is protected from lightnings, and therefore the link is more reliable.
